ABOUT ME

After graduation from college, I worked for five years as the staff photographer for a small weekly newspaper in rural New York.  I also did freelance work shooting corporate assignments for clients such as IBM and J. Walter Thompson.

During this period, I was fortunate to have received awards from the National Press Photographers Association and the New York Press Association, mostly for feature photography. It was a great honor to be recognized by my peers.  That said, nothing quite beat having readers tell me that they liked a picture so much that they cut it out of the newspaper and taped it to their refrigerator.

 

For several decades, I worked in marketing mostly for technology clients. 

 

Eventually, I began to miss journalism and photography and enrolled in the multimedia journalism master’s degree program at the University of Oregon.  I graduated in June 2025.
